Job Title: SHI - Education Project Assistant - Culturally Responsive Career Technical Education Pathways

Job Summary:

Provides foundational administrative and operational support. This position supports the implementation of the Culturally Responsive Career Technical Education Pathways grant-funded project implemented by Sealaska Heritage Institute. The program will serve AK Native students across Southeast AK in post-secondary planning including (dual enrollment CTE courses, Indigenous College and Career Fair, post secondary planning and work readiness, mentorships/internships and Traditional Games) by managing procurement, travel, and contract workflows.
Duties/Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain documents, supplies and inventory
• Track data and prepare initial purchase and reimbursement forms (PRFs)
• Initiate communication regarding travel logistics and support meeting scheduling.
• File and manage program documentation
• Assist to administer and ensure the timely completion of pre/post surveys by project participants
• Assist with project outreach to encourage participation in the project.
• Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information and incoming inquiries and other phone calls.
• Schedules and organizes complex activities, such as meetings, conferences, and department activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work well on own initiative and within a team
• Proficient in computer applications, including word processors, spreadsheets, database software, and online survey applications
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and attentive to details
• Knowledge of Alaska Native cultures

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position will have no direct reports.
Work Environment
This position’s duties are performed at SHI offices. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to verbally communicate. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
About this Role
This is a full-time benefited position. SHI employees are expected to work during SHI’s regular business hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. Additionally, employees may work up to or over 45 hours per week or additional time as needed to meet workload demands or special events such as Celebration. Part-time staff are expected to work 20 hours per week.

Required
Education and Experience:


• High School Diploma
• One year of administrative experience or equivalent office

Hourly Rate Range: $20.51 - $25.64
