Shareholder Participation Committee Update

Description: Sealaska established three Shareholder Participation Committees in 2019. These committees offer an opportunity for Sealaska to strengthen engagement between Sealaska shareholders and the board, and build relationships between communities and those who serve them. SPC is made up of shareholders representing the interests of three regions — Southeast Alaska, Other Alaska and Outside Alaska.

Film screening of Indigenous Resistance: Now and Then

Description: Join Sealaska for a virtual screening of the award-winning short documentary, Indigenous Resistance: Now and Then. The film by 'Waats'asdiyei Joe Yates explores the story and impacts of statehood, blood quantum, ANCSA and boarding schools on Alaska’s Indigenous people. 'Waats'asdiyei showcases powerful stories, bringing new voices to this important conversation. He hopes to reframe these issues through an Indigenous lens, supporting the resilience that has defined our Alaska Native people for the 10,000 years.

Global Launch: Moananuiākea Voyage

Description: Join Sealaska as we welcome the Hōkūle'a and our Hawaiian relatives of the Polynesian Voyage Society (PVS) to the shores of our ancestral homelands before they embark on the Moananuiākea Voyage, a four-year journey across the Pacific. PVS will launch the Moananuiākea Voyage from the shore of the traditional homelands of the Áak'w Kwáan, in their wa’a (canoe), the Hōkūleʻa.
