Sealaska Heritage Institute (SHI) invites interested candidates to apply for a vacancy on the SHI Board of Trustees (BOT).
Sealaska Heritage Institute is governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees, who are members of the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian tribes and who provide policy direction and fiscal and programmatic oversight to ensure that SHI carries out its mission efficiently and responsibly.
Interested applicants shall provide a letter of interest outlining the following:
- Reasons why candidate is interested in serving on the BOT;
- Cultural affiliation and identification (Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian);
- Expertise and experience; and
- Include a resume no longer than two pages.

Alaska’s primary for the special election to fill our open Congressional seat has begun. This seat was held by the late Congressman Don Young for nearly fifty years – and now, forty-eight candidates are running to fill it. Sensors attached to the 5-feet wide balloons take snapshots of the weather every few seconds – temperature, humidity, pressure, and wind speed – as they rise up to 100,000 feet and drift as far as 125 miles depending on wind speeds.
