Trooper Granda on assignment in the Kuskokwim region

After 23 years of law enforcement service, Alaska State Trooper Mark Granda retired on Aug. 31, 2021. Like his family, Sealaska is proud of Trooper Granda and his honorable service to the people of Alaska.

Granda’s career in law enforcement began in 1997 with the Sitka Police Department, where he served for nearly four years. In 2001, Granda began his career with the Alaska State Troopers, moving to Soldotna with his wife Alia and children Caitana and Dorian. Granda and his family returned to Juneau where he served the surrounding Southeast communities before transferring north to serve Anchorage, the Mat-Su Valley and Emmonak/Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region. The last leg of Trooper Granda’s service brought him back to the Mat-Su Valley, where he and his wife welcomed their youngest child, Micah. He has held a variety of details including Major Crimes Investigations. He’s a graduate of the National Forensic Academy and is a certified Child Forensic Interviewer. He also completed Peer Support Training through Warriors Rest Foundation.
